Design


  • In the spirit of Steinberg, all images and visual affects used exist as a compilation of his own work and source material found in the collection.

  • Type used throughout the project is Courier; additional visual treatment represents ties back to the apperance of typewriter fonts found in documents from the collection.

  • Mail away mask proposal emphasizes core apsects of Steinberg’s practice: the life of the outsider and his constant play with documentation.

  • Designed utilizing Yale branding and identity guidelines.









Saul Steinberg (June 15, 1914 – May 12, 1999)
was an American artist, best known
for his work for The New Yorker,
most notably View of the World from 9th Avenue.





He described himself as "a writer who draws".
