Overview

Sitting Amongst is a gestural depiction of a figure abstracted through processes and mark making.

The original drawing was a small thumbnail in a sketchbook, which served as a guide for the scaled screen print base (the image on the right).

The figure was then illustrated and emphasized using mark making to bring back elements of the composition lost through screen printing and scaling.

The vibrating image explores the direct relationship between information and processes in an attempt to capture memory and form.
